A concrete slab is always required for cellars with an upper entrance of 1.5 x 1.5 m and 2.0 x 2.0 m. For cellars with a sloping entrance of 2.0 x 1.75 m and D-2.5 m, a concrete slab is only needed when the groundwater level can rise above the bottom of the installed cellar (1.6 m - 1.7 m from the ground surface). If there is no groundwater at this depth, a 25 cm layer of B25 dry concrete reinforced with mesh reinforcement is sufficient.

In case of a small land plot, a cellar with a vertical entrance of 1.5 x 1.5 m or 2 x 2 m is the best choice. Installation requires a pit with dimensions of 1.9 x 1.9 m and 2.4 x 2.4 m, respectively. Such cellars may be installed under the terrace, garden house or under the garage floor. For large land plots, we recommend cellars with a sloping entrance. If the groundwater is shallow, a cellar with a sloping entrance will also be the best solution. To get individual consultation and make the right choice, please contact our distributor.

However, in autumn, during periods of increased rainfall, the groundwater level rises very high, often flush with the surface. The same situation occurs in spring, when snow melts. After one to two years, the pressure of the ground shifts the elements of the concrete cellar, disturbs the waterproofing, which leads to the ingress of groundwater inside the cellar. After that, it is not possible to repair the leak from inside the cellar.
